A boring day...

I've figured out that there are 2 main reasons I'm a terrible blogger. 1) I want whatever I say to be perfect! Sadly, I care more about my grammar, spelling, content, making sense, etc. than I EVER did when writing a paper in high school or college. So, in turn, I edit, delete, and start over so many times it takes me forever to post anything. And 2) I don't see a reason to write unless I have something useful to say, or I've done something exciting and worthwhile to write about.

So, as I have done just about nothing today... (I did do the dishes and a load of laundry) I am writing a post anyway! I haven't left my house, I haven't taken the girls anywhere, and it's showing! I can't even count how many fights I've broken up, or how many bonks I've had to kiss better. So, as I sit here in my room, while my girls watch a movie in the other room, I realize that as nice as it is to have nothing to do for once, I NEED to get out of the house! It keeps my girls happier, entertained, and gets some energy out so they'll come home and take a nap. And it also keeps me from being bored and impatient!

Happy Day!

Today was my last day of choir! I've been accompanying at a nearby junior high school, and today was their last performance. Normally, I would be sad that my favorite past time is ending for the summer. However, this has been the most "patience-building" job I've had. The teacher I work with is... difficult (to say the least) and I've dreaded going to class every week. It's only 55 minutes once a week!! Every class period I had an opportunity to open my mouth and say what I thought- and put the teacher in her place. Although I may have felt better immediately, I probably would have ultimately regretted it, knowing that there are probably bigger reasons why she treated me the way she has. So, although my tongue may be sore from all the biting, I don't regret it. I'm sure I'll recognize the lessons I've learned by the experience I've had. (Would it be wrong to mention now that I'm getting her job?)

Don't tell my husband...

As many of you know, I have a very tech-savvy husband. Not only does he know everything about the latest macs, iphones, ipods, routers, etc. but we generally need to buy just about every new gadget that comes around. In fact, we just got one of the latest speedier 24" macs. (I can't complain - it's awesome!) So, what do I want you to keep a secret? Well, between Jason and I, we've probably started about 8 websites. Jason has a financial blog, a fondant blog, a family blog, and I have a twin blog, a sudoku blog, a business site, and probably a few others that I've forgotten about. Together, we used to mock all the mommy blogs out there that gave no interesting information but the days' venting. And on top of that, if we were to have our own site, it could only be the best! (You know... a REAL website that we pay to own the name, not some cheater's blogspot.com address!) So... as I eat my words, and try to sound as least hypocritical as possible, I realized that I enjoy reading all of my friends daily entries of their lives... even as monotonous as mine. Not only that, but this is just so much easier to maintain that our family's REAL website. (Just about every one of my blogs has died out - our guthrieclan.com only survives because Jason updates it!) So, don't tell my husband, but this is my first official entry of my first official mommy blog... and hopefully many more will follow!
